About Us

Established in 1972, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northcentral MI has been making differences in the lives of children for 38 years. BBBS provides quality volunteer/professional services and special friendships to boys and girls from all economic and social backgrounds. The intended effect of providing mentors to children is to promote the emotional, social, educational, and physical well-being of children through positive relationships.
Mentoring can take place in two settings: first in our community-based program where children are “matched” with an adult Big Brother or Big Sister and participate in a variety of asset building activities; and second, in our school-based mentoring programs where either High School students serve as mentors (Bigs-In-Schools) to elementary age children or in our Lunch Buddy program where interested adults in the community come to the school to share lunch and activities with elementary age children.
